I do hope you have enjoyed reading this article and about all the various stories we’ve been “following.” Although bits of some of them do have truth to them, such as other countries not minting pennies any more and the Mackinac Bridge being paved this May, none of these stories are fully true.
Happy April Fool’s!
If you now have a big grin on your face, I’d appreciate if you would please help me – I rely on readers and advertisers like you to subscribe and advertise so that I can pay a few of my bills and keep you informed about what is going on in the area and our beautiful state of Michigan. Your subscription allows me to print the stories and columns that you enjoy reading and have grown to look forward to each month. It allows me to print color photos, such as March is Reading Month, Lions and Homemakers events, and to print for free ads about events that happen in the area (most newspapers charge for these ads.)
If you’d do me a big favor, I’d greatly appreciate it – I need some help increasing subscriptions. Here’s why:
Marketing is the most difficult part of a business, and you’re my best venue to increase sales through word of mouth. Word of mouth, from a reader like yourself, telling a friend or family member how much they should have a subscription, is the best way I can receive a compliment about how much you enjoy the paper.
So it would greatly help me out if you would please take the subscription coupon located on page A24 and fill it out with the name of a friend or a family member and give that person a gift subscription. Or go to bit.ly/didigestsubscribe and do it online. And then use the coupon code GIFT15 to save on the gift subscription.
You don’t have to have a particular reason. Sometimes the best gifts are the ones that are given “just because.” Put a note on the form and we’ll send a personalized card for you telling your friend that you’re sending them a gift subscription for the next year. Maybe it could be an early birthday present? How great would that be, especially if you’ve forgotten when their birthday is?!
Or, consider handing this issue to your neighbor and say “Hi there, here’s a really good newspaper that you should subscribe to.”
Thank you so much for reading the Digest! I greatly appreciate your support and your subscription.
Best regards,
